The Dahlia is a start-up day spa on the York/Sehome neighborhood border, located at 1151 Ellis Street, Suite 102- inside The Ellis Station (old KVOS-TV). We offer over 20 years’ experience in the spa and wellness industries, and we are looking for a talented, experienced esthetician to join our dedicated team of wellness professionals.

 

The Dahlia features three private treatment suites in which we will provide massage therapy, esthetics and Ayurvedic body treatments. We have chosen to partner with Ayurvedic-based skin and body, by Tara Spa Therapy.

This is an employee/employer opportunity. We offer a competitive hourly wage + both service and retail commissions. F/T, P/T, starting wage range DOE, +25% Service Commission, 10% Retail Commission. We offer a generous retail product discount for personal use. We know that if you use the Tara products, you’ll love them as much as we do!

Our chosen professional skin and body line is Tara Spa Therapy; resort-quality organic, vegan, cruelty-free,  Ayurvedic-based, herbal infused skin and body care. We provide training and all service products and tools are provided for you.

You will play a key role in delivering high-quality skincare treatments and personalized service to our valued clients. You will have the opportunity to showcase your expertise in skincare and beauty techniques, recommend appropriate treatments based on individual needs, and ensure a memorable experience for every client who walks through our doors. On occasion you may be scheduled for events, such as spa parties and other marketing events to boost our client reach. 

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Perform a variety of skincare treatments including facials, AHA chemical peels, Hydro/Microdermabrasion, Lash Lifting, lash extensions, brow tinting and shaping, and waxing and/or sugaring services. Detoxifying/Rejuvenating body wraps and scrubs will be scheduled on occasion. Dermaplaning, Sugaring and other industry services are desireable skills

  • Detailed client consultation and troubleshooting. Assess client skincare needs and recommend appropriate treatments and products 

  • Educate clients on skincare routines and provide guidance on maintaining healthy skin 

  • Make product recommendations at service closing

  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in treatment rooms and equipment 

  • Keep accurate records of client consultations, treatments, and product preferences/uses 

  • Stay updated on the latest skincare trends, techniques, and products 

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships to encourage repeat visits and referrals 

  • Pre-book your clients for their next service

  • Follow-up with new clients by card or phone call

 

Qualifications: 

  • Esthetician license in Washington State (required). 

  • Strong knowledge of skincare treatments, skilled facial technique application 

  • A working knowledge of anatomy, muscle structure and physiology, as it applies to your level of licensure and treatments offered 

  • A working knowledge of product ingredients, and a willingness to continue learning 

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills 

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of attention to detail 

  • Passion for skincare and helping clients achieve their skincare goals 

  • Committed to professionalism and possess an undeniable work ethic 

  • Committed to on-time arrival at work
